The beginning of the second holiday month was marked by the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, which significantly affected the number of visitors to the sports website. In the first week of August (the Olympics closed on August 8), the average daily website traffic in the Sports category reached more than 1.5 million RU from all facilities.
More than 1 million users from mobile devices visited sports websites during the Olympics and more than 700,000 from traditional PCs every day. The highest daily attendance was recorded on days when the Czech Republic won medals or was very likely to win them (eg gold in the tennis doubles from 1 August or an interesting fight by Adam Ondra for the first Olympic medal in sport climbing). After the end of the Olympic Games, users' interest in sports websites began to gradually decline, and in the remaining days of August, their total attendance decreased by an average of 500,000 RU per day.
The holiday season and the associated increase in the number of passengers and tourists have led to a further increase in interest in the Database and Catalogs category, which includes, for example, maps and timetables. This category recorded an increase mainly on tablets by 10%. The Pregnancy and Parenthood category also grew in August, mainly on traditional computers (15%) and tablets (14%). Another category that saw a more significant increase in the number of visitors was IT servers, mobile and digital technologies (an increase of 23 on tablets, 15% on traditional PCs, and 3% on mobile phones).
